Whitney Morgan Block, MSN, CPNP, FNP-BC

President and CEO, Co-Founder

Whitney Morgan Block, MSN, CPNP, FNP-BC is a proud co-founder of the National Allergy Center.

Whitney joined the team at the Sean N. Parker Center for Asthma and Allergy Research at Stanford University as the lead nurse practitioner in 2013, where multi-allergen food desensitization with and without omalizumab (Xolair) was pioneered.  In January 2016, she established the food allergy treatment program at the Asthma and Allergy Medical Group of the Bay Area in Walnut Creek, CA.  The increasing prevalence of food allergies and patient interest made Whitney realize the enormous unmet need for this therapy worldwide.  In 2017 she felt compelled to open the National Allergy Center and began treating patients with state of the art food allergy therapy.  Whitney is expanding the National Allergy Center to offer this life changing therapy across the country.

Whitney has dual board certifications as a pediatric and family nurse practitioner and is experienced treating patients of all ages.  She received a Masters in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University.  Before treating patients with food allergies she worked with the Centers for Disease Control on a nationwide research tour focused on pediatric health and nutrition.

The National Allergy Center is not affiliated with Stanford University or the Asthma and Allergy Medical Group of the Bay Area.

Carmela Valderrama

Lead Patient Care Coordinator

Carmela supports our patients from start to finish including scheduling appointments, answering insurance and billing questions, and more.   A Bay Area native and graduate of UC Berkeley, she has been working in the health care field since 2016 as a medical scribe in several outpatient clinics. She has a passion for working with children and plans to become a pediatrician.

Carmela loves food and is constantly looking for the yummiest food spots around the Bay Area. When she’s not working or studying (or eating), she enjoys get-togethers with friends and family, playing guitar, and driving around, camera in tow, looking for new photographable views!

Catherine Duong

Catherine is one of the center's EMT/MAs (emergency medical technician/medical assistants).  She has a B.S. in human biology from University of California, Merced where she graduated cum laude.   She has worked in the health care field for almost 4 years as an EMT prior to joining the team at the National Allergy Center.  She is currently working towards a career in biomedical visualization and communication to pursue her two passions: art and science!

In her free time, she enjoys arts, doing makeup, photography, and spending time with her family and friends around her hometown in San Jose.  She's a baking fanatic and is always looking for new recipes to try and share!

Megan Goldsby

Megan is one of the center's medical assistants with EMT (emergency medical technician)  training.  She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Science in food science and technology with minors in culinology and microbiology. Megan is also employed as an active EMT outside of the clinic. She enjoys working with children and has previous experience with childcare at an after school program. She is planning on continuing her career within the medical field as a physician assistant.

Megan has interests in traveling to foreign countries to learn
about different foods, cultures and lifestyles. She also enjoys
spending time with friends and family while exploring the local
hikes, sights and restaurants of the Bay Area.

Jessica Jung

Jessica works as one of the center’s EMT/MA’s (emergency medical technician/medical assistants).  In addition to working as an EMT for Royal Ambulance, Inc.  She studied biology at Chapman University and worked as an administrative assistant at Apple before pursuing her dream to become a physician’s assistant.

Jessica loves to travel and is always planning her next adventure, especially if there is delicious food involved.  When she’s not planning her next trip or working, she likes to opt outside and can most likely be found hiking a trail with her dog. Jessica's ultimate love will always be baking and she spends most of her time creating new treats in her kitchen, wishing she was on Great British Bake Off!

Divya Madhav

Divya is one of the center's EMT/MA’s (emergency medical technician/medical assistants) and graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology. She is working to become a physician assistant and hopes to work in emergency or pediatric medicine. Divya is the oldest in her family so she loves working and interacting with children.

Divya was born in New Zealand, but grew up in the States and has been living in the Bay Area for almost twelve years; she considers herself to be an "honorary native."  When she is not working in the clinic as a medical assistant and not saving lives as an EMT, Divya enjoys going to the movies, dancing and going on long walks.
